Losing Weight with Living Juices

Seven Days of Purification with Juices and Thermogenic Herbs

Here is my favorite juice-herb combination program. Try it for a day or two and when you find how much it does for you, you can continue with it for up to seven days.

Upon Rising:
Drink one eight-ounce glass of freshly squeezed citrus juice (orange or grapefruit) or one half of a lemon, squeezed into a glass of distilled water. This is rich in vitamin C, which helps to strengthen your blood vessels.
Have one cup of Purification Tea* (see recipe in appendix) with a small amount of honey if desired. This will flush out toxins from your internal organs.
Drink one large glass of freshly extracted Basic Cleansing Juice, consisting of carrots, celery, and parsley (see recipe in appendix). This drink is rich in minerals and beta-carotene and will strengthen the immune system.**
Have a bowl of warm potassium broth or a glass of fresh vegetable juice. ***This will help replenish the body’s minerals.
Before Retiring:
Again, enjoy a cup of Purification Tea with a small amount of honey if desired.

*If you wish, Purification Tea can be alternated with other milder teas, such as peppermint, chamomile, or rose hips. All three of these herbs have healing properties. Chamomile is a relaxant and is superb for the digestive system. It makes a good nighttime tea. Rosehip has a high vitamin C content, which is helpful for detoxification during fasting. Peppermint is an excellent overall restorative herb.

**The ideal combination is five parts carrot, two parts celery, and one-half part parsley. (Parsley should be taken in small quantities due to its high iron content.) Carrot-apple is another popular mixture. Combine in any way you like. These formulas help to flush out the kidneys.

***If you want to expand beyond just juicing, I recommend vegetable broth, which can be made by gathering various vegetables (i.e., potatoes, carrots, broccoli, string beans, cauliflower, celery, turnips, cabbage, onions, sea vegetables, etc.), and cooking them in distilled water in a large pot for about thirty minutes (low flame), then straining. This type of broth is both cleansing and building.

When you’re thirsty, drink distilled water with fresh lemon juice added to taste. Your total juice and broth intake for the day should be between one and one and one-half quarts.

Mild exercise during the day will highly benefit you during your juice-fast. Walking, or jogging if you are used to it, are excellent forms of exercise.
